Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Okpella Plant, Kogi

Job Summary

• The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment within the cement plant.
• This role ensures optimal plant performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes and minimize downtime.
• Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with regulatory and safety standards.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and maintenance records.
• Stay updated on advancements in mechanical engineering relevant to cement manufacturing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional certification or licensing is an advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a heavy industry, preferably cement manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
