We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • This is a full-time, on-site IT Manager role based in Lagos State, Nigeria.
  • The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • The role supports business operations by providing technical support, managing IT assets, maintaining information security, and implementing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
System and Network Administration for Core Underwriting Operations:

  • Manage and maintain servers, networks, cloud services, and IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor and secure network environments, including firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and access controls.
  • Perform system backups and maintain disaster recovery processes to protect critical business and customer data.

Specialized Application Support & Integration:

  • Provide technical support for business-critical applications, including policy administration, claims management, CRM, and other operational systems.
  • Support the implementation and integration of new software solutions and ensure seamless data flow between systems.
  • Troubleshoot application-related issues and liaise with vendors where necessary.

User Support and Helpdesk Management:

  • Provide timely technical support to employees on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage helpdesk requests and prioritize incidents based on business impact.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and off boarding, including system access, equipment allocation, and permissions management.

Hardware and Software Lifecycle Management:

  • Procure, deploy, maintain, and replace IT equipment and devices as required.
  • Manage software installations, updates, licenses, and subscriptions.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and related records.

Information Security & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices.
  • Monitor systems for security threats, unauthorized access, and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and internal security policies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, support activities, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base for recurring technical issues and solutions.

IT Project Participation & Strategic Input:

  • Support the planning, implementation, and deployment of IT projects and technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand technology needs and deliver effective IT solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 7 years of experience in IT administration, network administration, ideally within the financial services or insurance industry.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but highly desirable):

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, etc.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • (Relevant Security Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA CySA+).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
  • Expertise with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Demonstrable understanding of cybersecurity principles, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, local data protection laws), and compliance best practices in financial services.
  • (Optional) Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • (Optional) Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • (Highly Desirable) Exposure to or experience with core insurance software platforms (e.g., policy administration, claims, CRM for insurance).

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for security vulnerabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical insurance professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of organization and meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding sensitive data.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively, especially under pressure during critical incidents impacting operations.
  • Strong customer-service oriented approach, understanding the impact of IT on policyholders and internal stakeholders.
