Job Title: Locum Pharmacist

Location: Benin City / Siluko Road – Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a competent, responsible, and patient-focused Locum Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure the safe dispensing of medications, and provide professional pharmaceutical care to customers.
• The pharmacist will work on a full-time locum basis, with compensation calculated according to the number of hours worked.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and safely.
• Provide appropriate medication counselling and pharmaceutical advice to customers.
• Review prescriptions and identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, or dosage concerns.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of medicines.
• Monitor inventory, expiry dates, and stock levels.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise pharmacy assistants and other pharmacy personnel where applicable.
• Ensure the pharmacy maintains high standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service.
• Report medication, stock, or operational issues to Management promptly.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.
• Current Pharmacist registration/licence with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
• Previous experience in a retail/community pharmacy is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of prescription handling, dispensing, and medication counselling.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage pharmacy operations effectively.
