Job Title: Loan Recovery Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for a result-driven and persuasive Loan Recovery Officer to join our team.
• In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring delinquent accounts, developing effective recovery strategies, and ensuring timely repayment of loans.
• You will play a key part in maintaining a healthy loan portfolio and minimizing credit losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up with clients on overdue payments via phone calls, emails, and field visits
• Negotiate repayment plans and ensure prompt recovery of outstanding loans
• Monitor repayment trends and identify early warning signs of default
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and agreements
• Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate recovery actions
• Collaborate with the credit and legal team to initiate legal proceedings when necessary
• Provide periodic reports on recovery performance and trends

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in loan recovery or collections (preferably in a microfinance or fintech environment)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to remain professional and calm under pressure
• High level of integrity, persistence, and resilience
• Familiarity with loan management systems is an added advantage
• Willingness to conduct field recovery visits when necessary.
