Job Title: Livestock Manager

Job Summary

• We are looking for a skilled and proactive Livestock Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our livestock production farm.
• The role focuses primarily on piggery but also includes managing related animals such as goats, rams and poultry.
• The ideal candidate must have strong experience in pig farming and be capable of setting up and managing livestock systems from the ground up with little or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage livestock operations for piggery and similar livestock (e.g., goats, rams, poultry).
• Implement and supervise best practices in animal care, nutrition, breeding and general farm management.
• Detect signs of illness early and administer appropriate treatment.
• Monitor and improve livestock health, hygiene and housing for optimal productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of animal health, feed schedules, reproduction and farm outputs.
• Lead and train farm staff to ensure smooth operations and compliance with farm procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND in Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Animal Production, or related field.
• At least 4 years of practical experience in livestock farming, with strong emphasis on piggery.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
• Proficient in disease detection, diagnosis and treatment administration.
• Knowledge of livestock production for consumption purposes.
