Job Title: Live-in-Male Chef

Location: Apo legislative Quarters – Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • A chef isresponsible for planning and directing food preparation, including menu creation, cooking, and presentation, while also managing kitchen staff, overseeing hygiene and food safety, and controlling inventory.Key duties involve developing recipes, ordering supplies, ensuring food quality and consistency, and training kitchen staff to maintain a high standard of service.

Core Responsibilities

  • Menu and recipe development: Plan menus, create new dishes, and develop recipes that meet the establishment’s vision and financial goals.
  • Food preparation and cooking: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.This can include specific techniques like sauteing, grilling, and baking.
  • Kitchen management: Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Staff management: Recruit, train, and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper procedures and techniques.
  • Hygiene and safety: Enforce and maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards within the kitchen area.
  • Inventory and supplies: Monitor food stock, place orders for ingredients and supplies, inspect deliveries for quality, and manage food costs.
  • Equipment maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and in good working order, and order replacements as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Culinary expertise: Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and direct kitchen staff effectively.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and wait staff.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing needs.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 monthly.
