Job Overview

• We are seeking a qualified, highly skilled, and safety-conscious Licenced High Voltage Electrician to join our team in the Ogere/Sagamu area.
• In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-voltage electrical power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, and distribution lines.
• You will play a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted, safe, and efficient power operations across our facilities and project sites.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• HV Installation & Commissioning: Install, test, and commission high-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, ring main units (RMUs), and power distribution networks.
• Maintenance & Operations: Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on high-voltage power systems to prevent downtime and equipment failure.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Rapidly diagnose electrical faults, line disturbances, and mechanical failures in high-voltage networks and execute repairs safely and effectively.
• Safety & Isolation: Perform high-voltage switching operations, system isolations, earthing, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures in strict compliance with safety regulations.
• Testing & Quality Control: Conduct insulation resistance testing, relay calibration, transformer oil testing, and high-pot (Hi-Pot) testing on electrical installations.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate logs of switching procedures, maintenance schedules, fault reports, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification:

• Trade Test (Class 1, 2, 3), OND, or HND/B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid Electrical Licence / High Voltage (HV) Competency Certification from a recognized regulatory body (e.g., NEMSA or equivalent).

Experience:

• Minimum of 5–15 years of hands-on experience working directly with high-voltage industrial power systems, medium/high-voltage substations, or power generation facilities.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of high-voltage safety standards, switching protocols, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and electrical codes.
• Practical experience with transformers, switchgear, protective relays, heavy-duty industrial cabling, and termination kits.
• Proficiency with specialized electrical testing instruments (Megger, multimeter, primary/secondary injection kits).
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, calm under pressure, and a firm commitment to workplace safety.
• Location: Must be based in or willing to commute comfortably to the Ogere / Sagamu axis.

Salary Range
N200,000 – N400,000 / month (Commensurate with experience and skills)
