Job Title: Legal Officer – NYSC

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: NYSC

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented young Lawyer undergoing the compulsory National Youth Service Corps to join our growing legal team.
  • This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent law graduate to gain practical experience in a fast-paced Fin-Tech environment.
  • The Lawyer will provide support to the legal team in various aspects of legal operations, research, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, particularly within the fintech space (e.g., dispute resolution and litigation).
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including affidavit to show cause in response to garnishee proceedings.
  • Support the development and implementation of legal training programs to ensure general, company-wide adherence to relevant laws and regulations guiding fintechs in Nigeria.
  • Maintain and organize legal records and documentation, both physical and electronic.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to provide legal support and guidance.
  • Prepare and compile minutes of meeting on legal or company matters as may be required from time to time.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Dispute Resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and BL
  • Currently serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated interest in the Financial Technology space and the FinTech industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
