Job Title: Landscaping Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Landscaping Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a construction company to lead and manage landscape engineering projects.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of outdoor spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• The location is in Nigeria (Applicants from any location within Nigeria are encouraged to apply, but must be willing to travel outside their current location for work purposes.).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead landscape projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project goals.
• Conduct site assessments, including soil analysis, topography, and identification of natural hazards, to determine project feasibility and constraints.
• Develop detailed landscape engineering plans, including grading, drainage, erosion control, and material specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and contractors, to integrate landscape designs into overall construction projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, BOQs, quantity surveys, and tender documents.
• Monitor construction progress, manage contractors, and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and safety standards.
• Provide solutions to construction and design challenges, including change management and claims analysis.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built records and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with environmental sustainability principles and local regulations.
• Participate in client meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in landscape engineering within a construction company, with at least 5 years of site management experience.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of plant materials, horticultural practices, soil science, drainage systems, and landscape construction techniques.
• Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage client relationships.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and tender packages.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability and safety regulations related to landscaping and construction projects.
