Mosra Energy Limited Nigeria (MEL) is a well-established coal mining company with over 15 years experience in the industry. We are operating coal mines in Kogi and Delta States. In addition to our current operations, we have several other coal blocks under exploration in Nsukka/Udenu, Enugu State, Dekina LGA, Kogi State, and Ogbadibo LGA, Benue State.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Counsel

Location: Amac, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Junior Counsel with a strong background in corporate law to join our legal team.
  • The successful candidate will provide legal support to our group of companies, handling various corporate, labour, and litigation matters.
  • This role requires a high level of expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Law: Provide legal advice and support on corporate matters, including contract review, corporate governance, and compliance for multiple companies within the group.
  • Litigation: Assist in preparing and presenting cases, conducting legal research, and drafting legal documents for litigation matters.
  • Labour Law: Handle labour-related cases, including disputes, negotiations, and compliance with labour laws and regulations.
  • Document Management: Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda.
  • Case Management: Coordinate with senior lawyers, paralegals, and other team members to ensure effective case management.
  • Travel: Regularly travel to out-of-station locations for case management, meetings, including court appearances.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interact with clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Law Degree: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university.
  • Corporate Law Experience: Minimum 1 – 5 years of experience in corporate law, with a strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and compliance.
  • Litigation Experience: Experience in litigation or dispute resolution is an asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Salary Range
N250,000 – N300,000 per month.
