ÒKÈMAPO is a contemporary Nigerian home and lifestyle brand creating thoughtfully designed lighting and home décor products. We currently design and produce lamps and are expanding into 3D-printed furniture and other functional home products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior CAD / Product Designer – 3D Printing & Furniture

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time (Remote)

Job Summary

• We are looking for a Junior CAD / Product Designer who is passionate about design, 3D modelling and making physical products.

The Role

• You will work closely with the founder and product development team to turn ideas, sketches, measurements and references into 3D models, prototypes and production-ready files.
• The role is 80% remote, with occasional on-site sessions in Lagos for measurements, prototyping, testing and product development.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models from sketches, photographs and measurements.
• Develop and modify product designs.
• Create technical drawings and accurately dimension components.
• Prepare STL and other files for 3D printing.
• Assist with designing lamps, furniture and home décor products.
• Make design changes based on prototype feedback.
• Assist with designing furniture components, connectors and assemblies.
• Support testing and improvement of 3D-printed components.
• Research materials and manufacturing techniques.
• Maintain organised CAD files and product documentation.
• Participate in occasional physical prototyping and product testing in Lagos.

Requirements

• HND, BSc, BTech or equivalent qualification in Industrial/Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Architecture, Technical Design or a related field.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of at least one 3D modelling software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, Blender or similar.
• Understanding of basic measurements, dimensions and technical drawings.
• Interest in 3D printing and product development.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and take feedback.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Good communication skills.

Advantageous Skills:

• Experience using a 3D printer.
• Experience with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
• Experience designing furniture or consumer products.
• Knowledge of FDM 3D printing.
• Experience with STL or STEP files.
• Knowledge of woodworking, CNC, laser cutting or other manufacturing processes.
• Strong product-design portfolio or school projects.

Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 / month.
