Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial aspects of the business, including daily sales reporting, disbursement of petty cash, confirming transfers, and overseeing the broader finance functions.

Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities of the role include:

  • Record and reconcile daily sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale procedure.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive daily sales reports to management, highlighting key trends and performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with the Managers across branches to ensure accuracy and completeness of sales data.
  • Maintain and manage the petty cash fund to ensure there is always sufficient cash for operational needs.
  • Review and approve petty cash requests, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policies.
  • Reconcile petty cash transactions regularly and report any discrepancies.
  • Confirm and reconcile all financial transactions, including bank transfers and customer payments.
  • Collaborate with customer service department to verify the accuracy of transfer requests and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely confirmation of fund transfers to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team/ Inventory Accountant to reconcile supplier invoices and payments.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights into business performance and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including VAT and other statutory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Salary
N80,000 – N100,000 / month.
