We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Accountant / Finance Manager
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Junior Accountant supports the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with daily financial operations.
  • This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, processing vendor payments, and supporting monthly and yearly financial reporting for the confectionery/QSR business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, and expenses.
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly sales and expense reports for management.
  • Reconcile bank statements, POS transactions, and petty cash accounts.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
  • Monitor inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Assist with payroll processing and statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, etc.).
  • Ensure timely posting of supplier invoices and process payments.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
  • Identify discrepancies in financial records and report promptly for correction.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure proper cost tracking.
  • Support budget preparation and expense control initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience (experience in a QSR, retail, or FMCG company is an advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or Zoho Books).
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.

Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 Monthly.
