Job Title: Internal Audit & Control Lead

Location: Abeokuta – Ogun, Lagos, Osogbo – Osun and Ibadan – Oyo

Job Description

• The Internal Audit & Control Team Lead is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes across the organization.
• The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and operational procedures, with a focus on minimizing financial, operational, and reputational risks within the Company operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan covering core departments such as fleet management, logistics operations, procurement, and finance.
• Conduct regular audits to identify control gaps, assess risks, and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Monitor and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems across the business.
• Design and implement internal controls specific to logistics and haulage operations, including fuel usage, vehicle dispatch, maintenance records, and driver activity tracking.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings with practical recommendations to management.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and ensure timely closure of identified issues.
• Perform periodic risk assessments and work with departments to develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
• Investigate any suspected fraudulent or unethical activities and advise management on fraud prevention strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date audit documentation and records in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements
Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, with at least 2 in a leadership/internal control role within the logistics, haulage, or FMCG sector.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transport/fleet management, and warehouse controls.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in audit tools and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP or fleet tracking systems is an advantage.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audits simultaneously..
