The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Information Management Assistant

Location: Lagos
Work Schedule: Full-time – 40 hours per week

Summary

  • The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria  is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Information Management Assistant position in the Management office.

Duties

  • Under the general direction of the Information Systems Officer.
  • The incumbent assists the Information Systems Center with managing and administering the embassy’s OpenNet network, Classified network, secure voice and data processing equipment.
  • Assist with the Diplomatic Pouch and mail operations. Maintain COMSEC accountability.
  • The incumbent will be assigned special projects supporting Mission needs.

Requirements
Education:

  • Completion of University studies is required.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of computer-related working experience is required.

Language:

  • Fluent speaking/reading/writing of English is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of IT systems is required. Knowledge of the functions, personnel, and practices of the Consulate and its associated agencies is required.
  • Must understand network and computer systems and basic electronics.
  • Must be familiar with all industry standard tools, test equipment, and procedures for running cables, terminating cables, installing patch panels, installing workstations, servers, printers, and other peripherals.

Skills And Abilities:

  • Proven technical skills in troubleshooting and resolving Information Technology and Communications hardware and software issues is required. Must be fully familiar with the Windows 11 Operating System.
  • Must have the ability to manually exchange/repair electronic equipment as necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills are required. Keyboard skills that include a good working speed is required. Basic numerical skills are required for asset management is required.
  • Must be able to lift boxes and pouch bags that weigh up to 70 pounds.

Salary
USD $43,543 /Per Year.
