Job Title: Hypermarket / Supermarket Executive

Location: Abuja

Job Summary

• A fast-growing mixed-use commercial and leisure destination in Abuja is recruiting experienced professionals to join its operations and pre-opening team.
• The Hypermarket / Supermarket Executive will provide hands-on leadership for the setup and daily operations of the retail facility, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, excellent merchandising, and superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the setup and opening of the hypermarket or supermarket.
• Manage daily retail operations, staff, inventory, suppliers, and customer service.
• Develop operating procedures for stocking, merchandising, pricing, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Monitor sales performance, stock levels, product movement, and operational costs.
• Manage supplier relationships, product sourcing, purchasing, and delivery schedules.
• Ensure shelves are properly stocked, labelled, arranged, and visually appealing.
• Supervise store managers, cashiers, merchandisers, stock officers, and other retail employees.
• Implement measures to reduce stock losses, wastage, theft, and expired products.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare operational, sales, inventory, and profitability reports for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in supermarket, hypermarket, or large-format retail operations.
• Proven experience managing inventory, suppliers, employees, merchandising, and store profitability.
• Strong leadership, commercial awareness, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience in the setup or launch of a supermarket will be an added advantage.
• Experience in 4 star / 5 star hospitality industry is compulsory.
