Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • We are seeking a capable and people-focused HR Generalistto join our team and provide strong human resources support across the business.

Job Summary

  • The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring that we attract, develop, retain, and manage high-performing employees while maintaining a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.
  • This is not an administrative role; the successful candidate will work closely with management and team leads to improve employee performance, strengthen workplace culture, and ensure that HR practices support the company’s business objectives.

Key Responsibitlies
Recruitment & Talent Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from workforceplanning and job profiling to sourcing, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
  • Develop effective recruitment strategies for attracting quality talent.
  • Coordinate interviews and assessment processes with hiring managers.
  • Ensure new employees receive a structured and effective onboarding experience.
  • Maintain a talent pipeline for critical and recurring roles.
  • Support management with workforce planning and succession considerations.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee-related matters.
  • Manage employee concerns, grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters professionally and fairly.
  • Implement and monitor performance management processes.
  • Work with managers to establish clear KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Support performance improvement processes where employees are not meeting expectations.
  • Ensure that employee issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and respectful workplace relationships.

HR Policies & Compliance:

  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee guidelines.
  • Ensure employees understand and comply with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Ensure HR practices are aligned with applicable Nigerian employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for disciplinary actions, leave, attendance, performance, and other employee matters.
  • Support management in ensuring consistent application of company policies.

Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Build and maintain a positive workplace culture aligned with organization’svalues.
  • Develop employee engagement initiatives that improve morale, teamwork, and retention.
  • Coordinate staff recognition and employee appreciation initiatives.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Promote professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence across the organisation.
  • Support management in creating an environment where employees can perform at their best.

Learning & Development:

  • Identify employee training and development needs.
  • Develop and coordinate internal and external training programmes.
  • Support onboarding and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Maintain training records and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes.
  • Encourage employees to develop the technical, behavioural, and customer-service skills required for their roles.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support:

  • Maintain accurate employee compensation and benefits records.
  • Work with management and finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Administer employee leave, benefits, allowances, and other HR-related entitlements.
  • Support salary reviews and compensation benchmarking where required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.

Attendance & Workforce Management:

  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, leave, and absenteeism.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels across departments.
  • Review attendance trends and address recurring issues with relevant managers.
  • Maintain accurate employee attendance and leave records.

HR Reporting & Analytics:

  • Prepare regular HR reports for management.
  • Track key HR metrics including:
  • Analyse HR data and provide practical recommendations to management.
  • Maintain an organised and reliable HR information system.

Organisational Development:

  • Support management in developing organisational structures and clear reporting lines.
  • Review job descriptions and ensure roles and responsibilities remain clearly defined.
  • Identify gaps in people, structure, and processes.
  • Recommend HR initiatives that improve productivity and business performance.
  • Support organisational change and business growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or HR management capacity.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and Nigerian employment practices.
  • Experience working in a hospitality, wellness, beautyretail, lifestyle, or other customer-facing environment will be an advantage.
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Google Workspace skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 monthly.
