Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a National registered NGO with CAC No: CAC/IT/NO 25643 and has been in operation for over 10 years. Our mission is to work with the poor and socially excluded people and government for the promotion of environmental and human rights protection in communities in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training and direct impact interventions are in humanitarian emergency response and development, with physical presence in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Abuja, Cross River, Akwa Ibom States.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HR Consultant to Review Human Resource Policies

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Background

  • Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a national non-governmental organization registered in Nigeria since 2007 and implementing a range of humanitarian and developmental programs in different parts of Nigeria.
  • GREENCODE programs are in the areas of Nutrition, Protection (GBV)/Sexual and Reproductive Health, WASH, Shelter/NFI/CCCM, Food Security/Livelihood, Accountable Governance, Environmental Management, and Peace Building. Arising from the Board and Management’s desire to build and improve the functioning of the organization to a national NGO of excellence, the BOT/MGT have agreed to hire the service of a Human Resource (HR) expert to strengthen the human resource function of the organization through a thorough review of the HR policy of the organization.
  • The consultants will review past and present OCAT reports, interact with HR team to further identify gaps, draft HR policies, propose standard operating structure (SOPs) for the HR unit, recommend and set up HR software systems, templates etc

Objectives

  • The primary objective of the HR Consultant is to review GREENCODE’s HR policy and provide strategic recommendations for improvement.

The key objectives are:

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current HR policies and practices, identifying areas for improvement or revision.
  • Develop HR manual for the organization
  • Ensure that policy comply with local labor laws and align with NGO best practices.
  • Updated HR policy to reflect the organization’s values and objectives, promoting employee well-being, professional development, and organizational efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of the revised HR policy through training and capacity building for HR staff and managers.
