Jerry Marriot Hotel – The company is in the Hospitality industry located in 2 different cities of Nsukka (58 rooms) and Zaria (35 rooms). We are a luxury hotel located in the heart of Nsukka, Enugu State.

Job Title: Hotel Accountant

Location: Nsukka, Enugu

Job Description

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting hotel operations, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
We are seeking the services of an experienced accountant whose responsibilities will include but not limited to the following;

• Controlling the payroll and reconciling bank statements
• Preparing accurate month-end account with comparison to forecast
• Preparing profit and loss account and the balance sheet for senior management
• Assist in preparing budgets and business planning including project room revenue
• Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and other regulatory requirements
• Recover late payment, reporting bad debts and keeping and monitoring cash flow
• Maintain accurate and current accounting records
• Process cash disbursement and cash receipts
• Perform month-end reconciliation and financial analysis
• Review daily cash balance and maintain cash flow projections
• Prepare a monthly bank reconciliation for all company accounts
• Review vendor invoice and monthly statement to ensure all expenses are processed in the system

Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of a Degree / HND in Accounting
• Professional certification is an advantage
• At least 3 years experience in similar role and in the hospitality industry is preferred
• The ideal candidate should be resident in Nsukka or environs or is willing to reside in Nsukka.
