Job Title: Home Economics Teacher

Location: Jalingo, Taraba
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction & Curriculum: Develop and deliver engaging lessons on topics such as food hygiene, nutrition, parenting, consumer education, and fashion.
• Practical Training: Supervise hands-on activities, including cooking sessions and sewing projects, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Create, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and practical projects to track student development.
• Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment, often managing inventory for cooking or sewing equipment.
• Communication: Meet with parents/guardians, maintain records of student progress, and collaborate with staff to improve curricula.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences, or Education, often requiring state certification/licensure.
• Knowledge: Expertise in nutrition, culinary arts, fashion/textiles, and consumer sciences.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and instructional skills to engage students effectively.
• Safety Consciousness: Ability to manage a classroom with specialized equipment, ensuring high safety standards.
