Job Title: HEMM Engineer

Location: Okpella, Edo

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a HEMM Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of heavy earth-moving machinery.
  • This role involves conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and collaborating with operators and technicians to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities on HEMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Identify and diagnose technical issues with machinery, and perform necessary repairs or coordinate with technicians for corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance for reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct pre and post-maintenance inspections and report any equipment faults.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and fabricate replacement parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with safety rules and regulations as per Company guidelines
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Sectional Heads.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent in Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.

Skills And Competencies:

  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and software used for troubleshooting HEMM equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems used in heavy earth-moving machinery.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Experience with HEMM Brands: Familiarity with specific brands of heavy machinery (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo) is a plus.
  • Physical stamina to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and machining procedures.
  • Teamwork skills
