Job Title: IT Help Desk Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Officer to provide day-to-day technical support to end users and ensure the smooth operation of the company’s IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and resolve end-user issues related to network connectivity, internet access, printers, Remote Desktop systems, and other IT peripherals and applications.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, biometric machines, and printers connected to the company network.
  • Maintain and update inventory records of computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of stationery such as printing papers, toners, and related IT consumables, while updating supplier status.
  • Escalate complex IT issues to the IT Helpdesk Specialist when necessary.
  • Monitor alerts and logs generated from IT equipment and applications to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Perform regular data backups and restoration in line with company policies and best practices to ensure data integrity.
  • Update the Daily Morning Checklist report to confirm network availability and successful execution of scheduled system tasks.
  • Provide front-end support for Hand-Held machines used by sales personnel, including configuration, installation, setup, and training.
  • Ensure security patches and system upgrades are applied and maintained on desktops and laptops.
  • Complete tasks and deliverables assigned by the IT head of department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of proven experience in IT support or technical support roles.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and all common peripherals, including monitors, printers, modems, and other connection, communication, and storage devices.
  • Computer literacy: TCPIP PROTOCOL/ TCPIP Networks management
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
