Tincan Island Container Terminal Limited (TICT), established in 2004, is a multinational company operating in Nigeria with its Terminal located at Tin-can Island Port, Terminal B (2nd Gate), Apapa, Lagos and has its Head Office at 1/3 Point Road, Apapa, Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health and Safety Supervisor

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose and Main Mission

  • To provide support to the Deputy Safety Manager on implementing Health, Safety & Environment plans and management framework.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for interpreting implementation plans and instructions while providing oversight to Safety Officers as well as managing assigned shifts and personnel.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Patrolling and monitoring safety work in the terminal.
  • Supervise operational and non-operational safety activities.
  • Control SOP compliance in operations and maintenance sites.
  • Rectify all violations and hidden dangers through immediate corrective measures.
  • Prepare the Job safety analysis for non-routine activities by completing the JSA form with concerned parties.
  • Conduct shift HSE inspections and close all related actions plan.
  • Ensure safety awareness on operations sites during the shift.
  • Ensure initial incident reporting and investigate then make a recommendation and close related actions plan.
  • Supervise team’s daily job assignment, induction, and training.
  • Prepare the shift report and handover documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security standards in the workplace.
  • Report daily HSE observation and correction.
  • DG cargo management as per TICT safety policies.
  • Responsible for inspection, supervision, refilling, replacing of the fire extinguisher in the premises
  • Undertake any other duty as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferable in any Science / Engineering related field.
  • Relevant Certification in HSE with strong knowledge of safety standards
  • Knowledge and experience in relevant operational and non-operational processes
  • Minimum of Five (5) years relevant experience in Health Safety & Environment
  • Must be physically fit and agile.
