DSL Pharma is a manufacturing company that is currently focused on providing cutting edge veterinary and pharmaceutical solutions, customized to meet the daily needs of her end users.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Sales

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • As the Head of Sales, your primary responsibility will be to manage and lead the sales team in achieving the company’s revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • You will be responsible for developing sales strategies, overseeing sales operations and ensuring customer satisfaction, and play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyse market trends and consumer behaviours and develop strategies to boost sales in the new markets
  • Manages the sales team, including defining and communicating key performance indicators and targets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize performance and drive results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, fostering trust and loyalty.
  • Drive new business development efforts, identifying opportunities for expansion and diversification of the client base.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor sales metrics and KPIs, track performance against targets, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Develop and implement sales forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes to optimize resource allocation and drive efficiency.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the sales team, encouraging creative thinking and solution-oriented approaches.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to showcase products/services and expand network opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with sales policies, procedures, and standards, as well as relevant regulations and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, updates, and insights to senior management, providing visibility into sales performance and market dynamics.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the sales team, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development
  • Uphold the company’s values and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, DVM, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in B2B sales, preferably in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with clients and stakeholders
  • .Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, capable of developing and executing innovative sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, sales forecasting, and performance metrics.
  • Must be resided in Lagos
