About the Role

• We are seeking a result-driven, innovative, and strategic marketing leader to lead the marketing function of a growing microfinance bank.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, loan portfolio expansion, brand visibility, and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing strategies that drive revenue growth, deposit mobilization, loan portfolio expansion, and customer acquisition.
• Lead initiatives to increase the adoption and cross-selling of the bank’s microfinance products and financial services.
• Drive customer and market growth through field marketing, agent networks, digital channels, partnerships, and other strategic distribution channels.
• Identify new market opportunities, underserved customer segments, and untapped geographical regions for business expansion.
• Conduct market research and competitive intelligence to strengthen the bank’s market position.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve customer retention, engagement, and lifetime value.
• Lead the development and execution of the bank’s brand, digital marketing, social media, advertising, and content strategies.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary marketing team.
• Establish ROI-focused marketing KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure marketing activities deliver measurable business results.
• Collaborate with the Sales, Business Development, Operations, Credit, and Management teams to achieve overall business objectives.
• Prepare and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and return on investment.
• Monitor industry trends, customer behaviour, and regulatory developments affecting the microfinance sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Economics, or a related field with 5 – 8 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3 years in financial services, banking, microfinance, fintech, or a related sector.
• Strong understanding of microfinance products, financial services, customer segments, and target markets.
• Proven track record in brand management, customer acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth.
• Strong expertise in digital marketing, social media, content development, and performance marketing.
• Experience developing and managing marketing campaigns, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet aggressive targets, and deliver measurable results.
• Strong understanding of customer acquisition channels, agent banking, B2B / B2C partnerships, and grassroots marketing will be an advantage.
