Job Title: Head, Finance & Accounts

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Description

• Serve as a strategic partner and adviser to the CEO on Agency’s financials, budgeting, risk management and accounting processes — with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems.
• Recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance and financial controls
• Oversee the smooth and effective running and administration of the finance and accounting functions for the agency.
• Responsible for the Preparation and Renditions of statutory payment of obligations as well as ensuring compliance with statutory provisions
• Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements for the various business units of the Agency and produce consolidated reports
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed for the various business units
• Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that Agency policies are followed
• Development of a best-in-class monthly management Account, Quarterly Board Reports and other relevant reports
• Prepare Budgets and Business plans in conjunction with all stakeholders and present same to the CEO for approval. Ensure effective budget and budgetary control system and performance evaluation across the Agency
• Analyze the company’s financial performance through the comparison of budgets with actual of Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows and other reports. Report variances.
• Identify sources of financing to expand the scope of company’s business opportunities.
• Negotiate project financing; structure and document financial packages and agreements for the Agency’s Business units
• Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
• Assist in Finance/Account Team recruitment and provide relevant on the job training, skills and capacity building. (When need arises)
• Working with executive team for strategic leadership and directions needed to position the Agency for profitability and growth
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with other senior executives so as to foster team spirit
• Other functions as may be directed by the CEO

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Economics/Banking and Finance or a related field from a reputable institution. Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and or Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA (required)
• 6 – 15 years work experience.
• The ideal candidate must be highly numerate, detail-oriented, astute in developing and implementing process flows and passionate about problem-solving.
