Job Title: Head of Accounts

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A reputable Islamiyah school in Nigeria is hiring a skilled Head of Accounts to lead its finance team.
• The ideal candidate must have strong experience in school accounting, excellent knowledge of TallyPrime software, and a sound understanding of Nigerian tax laws.
• Experience in Islamic financial ethics is an added advantage. Must also be a devoted Muslim.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the school’s full accounting cycle using TallyPrime
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
• Oversee fee collection, invoicing, and student account reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with tax laws (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.) and handle statutory filings
• Supervise and train accounts staff, ensuring strong internal controls
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• ICAN or equivalent certification (added advantage)
• Minimum 5–8 years experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role
• Proficiency in Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations
• Experience in a school accounting
• Understanding of Islamic financial principles is an added advantage
