Background

• The organisation is seeking the services of a talented and versatile graphic artist and web designer to join the creative team on various design and web development projects.
• The Graphic Artist and Web Designer will be responsible for creating visually appealing designs and developing functional websites that align with the organisation’s branding guidelines and meet project objectives. The role will report to the Head of Section.

Scope of Work
The responsibilities of the graphic artist and web designer will include, but are not limited to:

• Designing and creating visual assets for digital, event, outdoor, and print materials such as brochures, banners, social media graphics, and website elements.
• Collaborating with the communications team to understand project requirements, target audiences, and brand guidelines.
• Developing innovative design concepts that effectively communicate key messages and enhance the organisation’s visual identity.
• Translating approved design concepts into functional websites.
• Implementing responsive design techniques to ensure websites are optimised for various devices and screen sizes.
• Conducting regular website maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Incorporating feedback and revising designs and websites as necessary.
• Staying up to date with industry trends, design principles, web development techniques, and relevant software tools.

Qualifications and Skills

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Proven experience as a graphic artist and web designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design and web development work.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of web development frameworks.
• Knowledge of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles.
• Excellent creativity and artistic skills, with the ability to balance aesthetics and functionality.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with team members and interpret project requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs and functional websites.

Confidentiality:

• The Graphic Artist and Web Designer shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding any proprietary or sensitive information accessed during the course of their work.

Intellectual Property:

• All design work and web development assets created by the graphic artist and web designer during the contract period shall become the property of the organisation.
