Job Title: Generator Operator

Job Description

  • We are seeking a reliable and experienced Generator Operator to manage the operation and routine maintenance of diesel and gas generators within our manufacturing facility.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted power supply, perform preventive maintenance, and promptly identify and report faults to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate diesel and gas generators to ensure continuous and stable power supply across the facility.
  • Monitor generator performance, including voltage output, load levels, and fuel consumption.
  • Carry out routine (daily, weekly, monthly) maintenance checks on generators.
  • Inspect and maintain engine oil, coolant levels, batteries, and filters.
  • Perform basic servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, and cleaning of generator components.
  • Detect faults early and escalate major issues to maintenance engineers or supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of generator usage, servicing schedules, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule servicing and repairs.
  • Ensure proper shutdown and startup procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a diesel and gas generator operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of generator systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000 / Month
  • Hospital retainership
  • Subsidised meals.
