Global Village Healthcare Initiative for Africa (GHIV Africa) is a Non-governmental, Non-for profit humanitarian/Developmental organization which started in 2014. We deliver assistance to affected populations before, during and after crisis situations. GHIV Africa was founded to mitigate the health deficit in Africa and to provide all forms of assistance leading to improved quality of life.

The organization is equally poised to support the delivery of healthcare services at the doorsteps of every African village by bridging the gap between primary health care delivery and tertiary health care services through a robust referral system. We offer assistance in need to the most vulnerable population regardless of their religion, race, gender and or political affiliation. Our decisions as an organization are not based on political, economic or religious interest but solely on needs of the affected population.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Gender and PSEA Officer

Location: Borno
Job Type: Full Time
Reporting line: Executive Director

Responsibilities

  • To support the implementation of PSEA and Gender policies within the organization.
  • Prevention activities to raise awareness of staff and also development of code conduct addressing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
  • Advise on any PSEA related issues that require immediate action and advocacy.
  • Provide training and capacity –building activities to identify target groups and stakeholders in the community regarding PSEA.
  • Support the project by integrating PSEA during the response and ensure co-workers, community and stakeholders had understanding of regulations.
  • Responsible for conducting gender analysis and gender-related assessment in the community and providing reports to the Area project coordinator.
  • Respond to requests and provide advice, assistance and solutions to protect staff related to gender equality and women empowerment both in development and humanitarian context.
  • Engage with local with local service providers and supervise the gender related components of service contracts, providers and beneficiaries.
  • Monitor and oversee regular activities implemented focusing on women, men, children and people with special needs in targeted community, making sure of equal access.
  • Prepare technical and other reports, monthly or as required by line manager.
  • Support to ensure that gender considerations are integrated into the M& E process and report on gender specific indicators to the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Gender, Social Sciences or Law
  • Working experience with an international NGO in related field.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and writing).
  • Good verbal communication in native languages.
  • Experience in conducting assessments.
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse group of people.
