Job Title: Gardener

Location: Abuja

Reports To: Operations Manager/Facilities Supervisor

Job Summary

• The Gardener is responsible for maintaining DAL’s gardens, lawns, plants, and outdoor areas in a clean, attractive, healthy, and well-maintained condition.
• The role ensures that the property’s landscaping and green spaces consistently meet the company’s presentation and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other landscaped areas.
• Water plants and lawns as required.
• Mow, trim, edge, weed, and prune plants and lawns regularly.
• Plant, transplant, and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants.
• Apply appropriate fertilizers, compost, and approved pest-control treatments when required.
• Remove dry leaves, weeds, branches, and other garden waste.
• Keep walkways, outdoor areas, and landscaped spaces neat and free from debris.
• Monitor plants for signs of disease, pests, or damage and report issues promptly.
• Operate and properly maintain gardening tools and equipment.
• Report damaged equipment, irrigation problems, or other maintenance issues.
• Assist with landscaping projects and improvement of outdoor spaces.
• Follow appropriate health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Ensure gardening activities do not inconvenience guests or disrupt property operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of SSCE / OND or equivalent.
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar role is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care, and gardening tools.

Required Skills:

• Good knowledge of gardening and landscaping techniques.
• Ability to operate basic gardening equipment.
• Plant care and maintenance skills.
