We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fraud Analyst

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

  • We are looking for a Fraud Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing and reviewing a broad range of financial data, including transactions, transfers, and payments to uncover potentially fraudulent activity.
  • You must be familiar with data analysis techniques, software, and processes, and you should possess the creative problem-solving abilities necessary to suggest new methods of analysis and prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Determine existing fraud trends by completing daily analysis of loan applications and disbursements.
  • Monthly review of NPL accounts to identify fraudulent disbursements
  • Identify system and rule improvements to prevent fraudulent activities
  • Provide input into fraud analysis models to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of company systems.
  • Recommend new software tools used for fraud detection, prevention and reporting activities.
  • Generate suspicious activity reports and risk management reports.
  • Respond to internal queries regarding suspicious users
  • Ensure confidentiality of all information collected during an investigation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related or relevant fields
  • 3+ years’ Fraud / Portfolio experience in a high-growth environment
  • Experience working for a Fintech is an added advantage
  • Experience in SQL, Root Cause/Impact Analysis and familiarity with Tableau or another BI tool
  • Strong team player and communicator with the ability to motivate and lead growing organizations
  • High agility and responsiveness
  • Honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Outstanding logical/ analytical thinking skills to detect and identify weaknesses in systems; as well as identify the root cause of the weakness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A strategic thinker who looks beyond the obvious to solve problems and get results.
