Job Title: Food Safety Officer

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• To ensure compliance with food safety standards and company requirements by monitoring the Food Safety Management System, hygiene, GMP, and product quality across the processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HACCP, FSMS, GMP, GHP, and FSSC / ISO 22000 requirements.
• Conduct routine hygiene, production, warehouse, and food safety inspections.
• Monitor CCPs, OPRPs, raw materials, in-process activities, and finished products.
• Maintain food safety records, SOPs, reports, and audit documentation.
• Support internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
• Investigate non-conformities and complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate fumigation, shelf-life monitoring, sampling, and proper product storage.
• Ensure compliant loading, ALP treatment, and dispatch documentation.
• Conduct food safety / hygiene training and promote food safety awareness.
• Submit daily quality and consumable reports and perform QC activities when required.

Requirements

• B.Sc. / Msc in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in food safety / QA within a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSMS, and food safety regulations.
• HACCP / Food Safety Level 3 or 4 certification preferred; FSSC / ISO 22000 is an advantage.
• Strong inspection, auditing, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work Sundays / public holidays when required.

Salary
N300,000 – N350,000 monthly.
