Job Title: Fleet Assistant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Fleet/Logistics Assistant to assist the management of our fleet and coordinate logistics operations.
  • The successful candidate will ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods, manage vehicle maintenance schedules, optimize routes, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • This position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics for the transportation of goods, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in fleet performance, including vehicle condition, fuel consumption, and route optimization, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the scheduling of drivers, ensuring proper allocation of resources based on demand and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet activities, including vehicle inspections, repairs, insurance, and other necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with drivers and other teams to resolve logistical challenges and delays.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including transportation safety and licensing requirements.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to manage the acquisition of new vehicles or equipment as necessary.
  • Perform periodic inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet operational standards and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management with 0-2 years experience.
  • Experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management systems, logistics software, and tools.
  • Familiarity with transportation and safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving logistical challenges.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers, service providers, and other external partners.
  • Candidate must reside in or be in close proximity to Ajao Estate and its environs.

Salary
N70,000 / Month.
