Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc – Our subsidiary, Niger Mills Company Limited, is a food production company located in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1967. Niger Mills is involved in food production, specifically flour milling. The company’s products include wheat flour, semolina, and wheat bran, sold under the brand name “Lion”.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fitter

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Purpose

• To support operational efficiency and achievement of BU objectives by carrying out repair and preventative maintenance on assigned machines and systems.

Responsibilities

• Repair any fault or damage in the machine and site as assigned
• Conduct maintenance work on packing machine, carousel, packing conveyor, elevators and all assigned machines and systems.
• Carry out troubleshooting of mechanical faults in the mill
• Installation, Weld and fabricate component parts
• Read, interpret and implement technical drawing and diagrams
• Carry out planned maintenance jobs, repair of roller mill and other flour milling equipment as scheduled
• Carry out installations of mechanical pumps, motors, gear boxes and other equipment
• Perform routine maintenance by carrying regular inspections, lubrication and adjustment
• Conduct diagnostic test using tools and equipment to identify faults.

Qualifications

• 5 O’ level Credits including English & Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
• Technical qualification would be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.

The person must have:

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify potential risks and hazards.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Have Excellent risk assessment and hazard identification skills.
