BA Ports Services Limited (BA Ports) is a Nigerian registered Company providing a broad range of shipping and port agency services to the Maritime, Ports, Shipping, Offshore and Oil and Gas sectors.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Keep accurate records of all daily transactions.
  • Processing sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Update internal systems with financial data.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Process tax payments and returns (VAT. PAYE. CITA. Education Tax)
  • Participate in financial audits.
  • Prepare staff monthly payroll, process & remit pension, and other statutory deductions.
  • Balancing accounts.
  • Paying regular bills for the company.
  • Handling supplier invoices by recording and approving or denying the payments.
  • Working in several currency accounts to track spending across the different sections of the company.
  • Process Journals.
  • Prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance reports for senior management.

Requirements
Educational and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of B.Sc or HND in Finance / Accounting Higher educational qualification with 3 – 4 years relevant work experience in Accounting / Finance.
  • A professional certification in Accounting (ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting packages and systems, preferably QuickBooks.
  • Good organizational skills, good data gathering, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity. Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
