We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations and provide strong financial leadership across financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, cost control and business performance.
  • Experience with companies such asTSL or similar transport and logistics organisationswill be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable Nigerian financial regulations.
  • Review reconciliations, general ledger accounts, bank statements and financial schedules.
  • Provide management with financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and cash-flow projections.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and investigate variances.
  • Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators.

Transport & Logistics Finance:

  • Monitor the financial performance of transport and logistics operations.
  • Analyse key operational costs, includingfuel, vehicle maintenance, fleet expenses, driver costs, repairs, insurance and logistics expenses.
  • Monitor profitability by route, customer, vehicle, contract or business unit where applicable.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure effective cost management and financial discipline.
  • Review the financial implications of fleet acquisition, leasing, maintenance and replacement decisions.

Cash Flow & Working Capital:

  • Manage daily and monthly cash-flow forecasting.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and drive timely customer collections.
  • Manage supplier payments and accounts payable.
  • Monitor working capital and liquidity requirements.
  • Maintain effective banking relationships.

Tax, Audit & Compliance:

  • Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory and tax obligations.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Maintain appropriate financial controls and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor operating and administrative expenses against approved budgets.
  • Analyse major cost drivers across the transport and logistics operations.
  • Develop and implement cost-control initiatives.
  • Investigate unusual or excessive expenditure and recommend corrective action.

Team Management:

  • Lead, supervise and develop the finance team.
  • Set clear objectives and performance targets for finance staff.
  • Ensure high standards of accuracy, accountability and timely reporting.
  • Continuously improve finance processes, controls and reporting systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree inAccounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in aFinance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Accountant or similar role.
  • Experience withintransport, logistics, haulage, fleet management or distributionis strongly preferred.
  • Professional qualification such asACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalentis an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge offinancial reporting, budgeting, taxation, cash-flow management and internal controls.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
  • Experience using ERP/accounting software is an advantage.
