Job Title: Finance Leader

Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Leader to oversee the organization’s financial operations, accounting functions, financial planning, reporting, tax compliance, and overall financial control.
• The Finance Leader will provide financial insights to management, ensure accurate financial records, strengthen internal controls, manage cash flow, and support strategic business decisions through sound financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the company’s finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, income, expenses, and financial performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management accounts.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate tax filings, audits, and relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate risk-management measures.
• Develop financial models and conduct cost-benefit and profitability analyses.
• Monitor company expenditure and recommend cost-control measures.
• Review financial transactions and ensure proper documentation and authorization.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies.
• Support management in investment, expansion, pricing, and other strategic decisions.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, consultants, and other financial stakeholders.
• Improve finance processes through technology, automation, and efficient reporting systems.
• Present financial reports and business performance insights to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA is required/preferred.
• 7–12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with significant leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading a finance/accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, and financial controls.
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and business performance management.
• Experience working with senior management and providing strategic financial advice.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience managing audits and relationships with external auditors.
