Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Accountant to join our dynamic team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our restaurant, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, financial analysis, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• This is a shift position that includes weekends, requiring a candidate with prior restaurant or hospitality experience.

Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Management:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow, monitor receivables and payables, and ensure timely financial transactions.

Accounting and Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements regularly.
• Generate insightful financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with the management team.
• Utilize forecasting techniques to predict financial trends and make informed decisions.

Cost Control:

• Implement measures to control costs related to food, labor, and overhead.
• Conduct regular cost analysis to identify areas for improvement.

Tax Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns.

Inventory Management:

• Oversee inventory processes, tracking, and reconciliation.
• Implement strategies to minimize losses and optimize inventory levels.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the restaurant’s compliance.
• Work with the management team to address any legal or regulatory financial issues.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
• Collaborate with different departments to gather relevant financial data.

Requirements
Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on restaurant or hospitality.

Skills:

• Proficient in accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with accounting software and technology tools.

Availability:

• Willingness to work weekends and accept a shift-based position.
