Job Title: Female Private Chef

Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • A chef’s job description includes menu planning and creation, sourcing ingredients, preparing and cooking food, managing kitchen staff, overseeing food quality and presentation, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and managing inventory and costs.
  • They often work in fast-paced environments like restaurants, hospitals, or on cruise ships and are responsible for creating a positive guest experience through delicious and well-presented dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development: Plan menus, develop new recipes, and create daily specials while considering seasonal ingredients, dietary preferences, and culinary trends.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
  • Staff Management: Train, supervise, and delegate tasks to kitchen staff, including cooks and other team members, to ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Inventory and Cost Control: Manage inventory, including ordering, stock rotation, and cost control, to minimize overhead and ensure adequate supplies.
  • Quality & Hygiene: Ensure all food meets quality and food safety standards, maintaining strict cleanliness and sanitation guidelines in the kitchen.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor kitchen equipment, ensure it’s in good working order, and order new equipment as needed.
  • Supplier Relationships: Source high-quality ingredients and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Skills and Qualities

  • Culinary Expertise: Deep knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredient properties, and recipe development.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor, lead, and manage a culinary team effectively.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle guest feedback and resolve kitchen-related issues promptly.
  • Creativity: A passion for creating innovative dishes and staying updated on culinary trends.

Work Environment

  • Fast-Paced: Chefs typically work in hot, demanding environments and must remain calm under pressure.
  • Physical Demands: The job can be physically demanding, requiring long hours on your feet.
  • Diverse Settings: Work can take place in various settings, including restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels, and cruise ships.

Salary
N150,000 / month.
