We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Facility Officer 

Locations: Abuja and Victoria Island, Lagos

About the Role

  • Facility Officers are involved in several tasks to ensure that equipment within the facility are fully functional, maintained and repaired or replaced.

Roles / Responsibilities
General maintenance:

  • A facility officer’s primary role is to look after the facility and grounds of an organisation’s property.
  • This includes ensuring the general upkeep of its facilities and equipment.
  • Facility officers coordinate and log work orders and sometimes assist with maintenance work.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment
  • Complete daily checklist of work performed
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the maintenance function

Health and safety:

  • Ensure that the Facility and surrounding areas are safe.
  • Ensure that the buildings meet all necessary health and safety standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all assets consistently meet building regulations.

Staff management:

  • Responsible for managing the organisation’s maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate, instruct and oversee third-party services to ensure they do their jobs correctly.

Install New Equipment:

  • In some cases, machines that no longer work simply cannot be repaired due to the age of the machine or the cost of the repairs. It is then the responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer to install new equipment and to perform checks following installation to ensure that all systems are in working order.

Qualification and Experience

  • BSc or HND in Mechanical or Electrical  Engineering (Preferred)
  • Minimum of  four  (4) years experience facility management sector is preferred
  • Successful trade  test certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating and electronic systems
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to act competently in emergencies
  • Understanding how to read blueprints and system schematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be adapt in the use of Internet and E-mail
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
