Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled and refined Chef to work in a prestigious private household in Abuja.
• The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in authentic Nigerian cuisine, Continental cuisine and Mediterranean-style salads, with proven experience serving high-net-worth individuals and working in upscale culinary environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare excellent and authentic Nigerian soups and traditional dishes — this is a critical requirement.
• Prepare a wide range of Continental and international dishes to a premium standard.
• Prepare fresh, creative and well-presented Mediterranean salads.
• Develop meals that are nutritious, balanced and tailored to the client’s dietary requirements.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of diabetes-friendly nutrition and meal preparation, including appropriate ingredient selection, portion control and reduced-sugar meal options.
• Plan weekly menus and maintain variety while respecting the client’s dietary preferences.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
• Manage food stocks, ingredients and kitchen supplies efficiently.
• Ensure meals are consistently presented to a fine-dining/private-household standard.
• Adapt menus based on the client’s health, nutritional and lifestyle requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Male Chef preferred.
• Must be 45–55 years old.
• Must currently reside in Abuja. Candidates outside Abuja will not be considered, as the client will not be relocating candidates.
• Proven experience working as a Private Chef in premium/high-net-worth households is essential.
• Previous experience in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in Nigerian cuisine, particularly Nigerian soups, is non-negotiable.
• Strong Continental cooking skills.
• Excellent knowledge of salads, particularly Mediterranean-style salads.
• Must have practical knowledge of diabetes-friendly diets and nutritional meal preparation.
• Must be polished, discreet, hygienic, organised and professional.
• Must demonstrate excellent culinary skills, attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to work independently and understand the high standards expected in a premium private residence.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• The successful candidate should be more than just a good cook. He should be a well-rounded professional Chef with both fine-dining discipline and private-household experience, capable of preparing exceptional Nigerian meals while also delivering Continental and health-conscious cuisine.

Salary
Up to N500,000 – 1 million Naira monthly, depending on experience.
