Job Title: Excavator Operator

Location: Igere Remo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Machine Operation:Safely operate hydraulic excavators (including 360-degree units) for excavation, grading, trenching, and demolition.
• Site Preparation:Clear land, dig foundations for buildings, and excavate trenches for pipes or cables.
• Safety & Maintenance:Conduct pre-operational daily inspections (checking oil, fuel, fluid levels), perform basic repairs, and ensure the machine is in good working order to prevent malfunctions.
• Material Handling:Load, move, and lift heavy materials (dirt, rocks, debris) with precision.
• Site Plan Adherence:Read blueprints and survey markers to ensure digging occurs at the correct depth, slope, and location.
• Collaboration:Coordinate with ground crew, signalers, and site supervisors to maintain a safe, efficient workflow, often in restricted spaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 3 – 4 years of experience in operating excavators or similar heavy machinery.
• Technical Skills:Proficient understanding of hydraulic equipment and basic maintenance.
• Technology Proficiency:Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided systems for precise excavation.
• Physical Ability:Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to sit for extended periods.
• Safety Knowledge:Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), including handling underground utilities.
