Job Title: Engineering & Technology Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5+ engineers, driving performance, accountability and growth.
• Architect, design and deliver scalable backend systems using Java (Spring Boot or similar).
• Oversee end-to-end product development across frontend, backend and mobile.
• Provide technical leadership for Android and iOS application development.
• Enforce engineering best practices – code quality, testing and security standards.
• Collaborate with product, operations and compliance teams on mission-critical solutions.
• Design systems for high availability, scalability and security in high-transaction environments.
• Lead agile delivery – sprint planning, backlog grooming and release management.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges across the stack.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8-15 years of software development experience, with 3-5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in Java and enterprise frameworks (Spring Boot).
• Proven full-stack development experience (frontend + backend).
• Hands-on experience building/overseeing mobile apps (Android & iOS).
• Demonstrated experience managing and scaling engineering teams (5+ developers).
• Strong understanding of API design/microservices, relational & NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), and CI/CD & DevOps practices.
• Experience in fintech, banking or high-volume transaction systems is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) across the engineering lifecycle – requirements, architecture, coding, testing and documentation.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and security best practices (PCI DSS) is a plus.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones.

Salary
N1,500,000 – N2,000,000 / month.
