We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Manager

Location: Sango – Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports to: Plant Manager / Head of Engineering

Job Purpose

  • To manage, supervise, and coordinate all electrical maintenance activities within the plant, ensuring uninterrupted operation of production lines, minimal downtime, and full compliance with electrical safety and quality standards in the flexible packaging process.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Operations:

  • Oversee all electrical systems and ensure effective functioning of production and utility equipment.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Diagnose faults and respond promptly to breakdowns on extrusion, printing, lamination, and slitting machines.
  • Ensure all electrical works are performed according to industry standards and company safety policies.

Project Supervision & Upgrades:

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of new equipment, electrical panels, and automation systems.
  • Liaise with OEMs and service vendors for project execution, upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Initiate and implement energy-saving and system improvement projects aimed at cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, train, and mentor electrical technicians and supervisors to enhance technical competence.
  • Develop work schedules and ensure adequate maintenance coverage across all shifts.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness, discipline, and continuous improvement within the team.

Energy & Power Management:

  • Monitor power usage and ensure efficient energy consumption across the plant.
  • Coordinate with utility providers to ensure consistent and reliable power supply.
  • Propose and drive initiatives to reduce energy costs and losses.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, drawings, and system documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory requirements, and internal audit protocols.
  • Prepare technical reports and performance summaries for management decision-making.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Reduction in machine and line downtime.
  • Improvement in energy efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Compliance with electrical and safety standards.
  • Team productivity and technical skill improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc Degree or HND in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
  • 8–10 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably within a flexible packaging or manufacturing plant.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation (PLCs, VFDs, Servo Drives, and control panels).
  • Hands-on experience with printing, lamination, extrusion, and slitting machines is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex maintenance operations.

Working Relationship:
Internal:

  • Works closely with the Mechanical Manager, Production Managers, and Shift Engineers to ensure smooth operation of all machines.
  • Interfaces with the Quality Assurance, Safety, and Procurement departments on maintenance-related matters.
  • Reports directly to the Plant Manager or Head of Engineering on performance, projects, and major issues.

External:

  • Liaises with equipment manufacturers, technical service providers, and contractors for maintenance support and spare parts procurement.
  • oordinates with power supply agencies and regulatory bodies on electrical compliance where necessary.
