Job Title: Electrical Engineer 

Location: Nigeria (Applicantsfrom any location within Nigeria are encouraged to apply, but must be willing to travel outside their current location for work purposes.)

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with at least 10 years of proven expertise in the construction industry.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining large-scale electrical systems on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical load calculations, blueprints, and schematics using computer-aided design software.
• Estimate project costs and labor requirements, and develop accurate timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Manage and supervise electrical contractors and technicians on site, assigning tasks and ensuring quality workmanship.
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations to ensure compliance with local and national codes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly to avoid project delays.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems within overall project plans.
• Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical advice and leadership on electrical engineering matters during construction phases.
• Oversee maintenance programs and ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems post-installation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working as an electrical engineer within a construction company, preferably on large-scale projects.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and power system analysis tools.
• Strong skills in project management, budgeting, and cost estimation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including outdoors and at heights, and willingness to travel as project demands require.
