Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Ilisan, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Department (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Position Summary

• The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving the electrical systems critical to the organisation’s operations.
• This includes ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of electrical installations, equipment, and controls to support uninterrupted operations.

Responsibilities
Tasks and activities of the role:

• Design and implement electrical systems for CNG operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supervise the installation of electrical equipment and control systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, compressors and control stations equipment to minimise downtime.
• Support departmental objectives by managing assigned tasks independently and stepping in to assist with higher-level responsibilities when necessary, ensuring a smooth workflow even during leadership absences.
• Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety measures for installations.
• Maintain detailed records of electrical systems, maintenance schedules, and repairs, prepare technical reports on system performance, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Oversee the functionality and reliability of electrical components within Pressure Management and Regulation Stations, resolving any issues that arise to prevent operational disruptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Membership or certifications from professional bodies such as NSE or COREN are desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, preferably within the CNG or energy sector.
• Familiarity with CNG or industrial electrical systems is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, drawings, standards, and regulations.
• Attention to detail: Accuracy in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and coordinating with the team.
• Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose complex electrical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Time management: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
