Job Title: Economics Teacher (Secondary School)

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities 
Teaching and Learning:

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in the assigned subject(s) in accordance with the approved curriculum.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods where appropriate.
• Set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.

Assessment and Reporting:

• Design and administer classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Mark and provide constructive feedback on students’ work promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ academic progress and attendance.
• Prepare report comments and communicate student progress to parents and school leaders.
• Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and interventions.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
• Enforce school rules, policies, and procedures consistently.
• Promote positive behaviour and student responsibility.

Student Development and Pastoral Care:

• Monitor students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Provide guidance and support to students as needed.
• Identify students requiring additional support and refer them appropriately.
• Serve as a form tutor or class teacher when assigned.
