Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview

• Our Client is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support maintenance operations at our Igbesa (Agbara) plant.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience servicing and repairing diesel-powered heavy-duty equipment within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel excavators, forklifts, payloaders, tractors, and other heavy-duty equipment.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting, engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, and parts replacement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute repairs in a timely manner.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are kept in proper working condition and safe for use.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to support plant operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years experience as a diesel mechanic working on excavators, forklifts, payloaders, tractors, and similar equipment.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagnose faults, and work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and adherence to safety practices.
