Job Title: Design Architect (NYSC / Intern)

About the Role

• We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Architect (NYSC / Intern) to support our team in developing innovative furniture pieces that merge form, function, and sustainability.
• This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-pacedfurniture manufacturing environment while contributing to meaningful design work.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop furniture designs that reflect the company’s brand identity and market trends.
• Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings to effectively communicate design concepts to the manufacturing team.
• Research emerging design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to incorporate innovative ideas into furniture designs.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing, providing technical guidance as needed.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and ergonomic and safety considerations in all designs.
• Partner with suppliers and manufacturers to select suitable materials, finishes, and hardware, balancing cost, quality, and sustainability.
• Participate in design review meetings, offering insights to improve designs and streamline production processes.
• Manage project timelines to ensure design deliverables meet established deadlines.

Key Requirements

• B.Sc. / OND / HND in Architecture or a related field.
• 0 – 1 years’ experience in furniture design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino for technical drawings and 3D modeling.
• Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail, with the ability to balance form and function in designs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to convey design concepts effectively to cross-functional teams.
